Method

Waffle Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Waffle Batter

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and golden malted milk powder until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, milk, eggs, and melted butter. Mix until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

  4. 4

    Heat the Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  5. 5

    Cook the Waffles

Pour an appropriate amount of batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown and crisp. Repeat with the remaining batter.

Spiced Butter Preparation

  1. 6

    Make the Spiced Butter

In a small bowl, beat the unsalted butter until soft. Add brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Mix until well combined and creamy.

Sugared Pecans Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare the Sugared Pecans

In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add pecans and sugar, stirring constantly until the sugar has melted and coated the pecans. Cook for about 5 minutes until golden brown and fragrant. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and let cool.

Fresh Fruit Preparation

  1. 8

    Prepare the Fresh Fruit

Wash the mixed berries and slice the banana. In a small bowl, toss the berries and banana with honey to coat.

Serving

  1. 9

    Assemble the Dish

Serve the warm pumpkin waffles topped with spiced butter, sugared pecans, fresh fruit, and a generous drizzle of maple syrup.
