Pistachio Syrup

Method

Pistachio Syrup Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Pistachio Syrup

In a medium saucepan, combine the shelled pistachios and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Simmer and Blend

Once boiling, reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Blend the mixture until smooth.

  3. 3

    Strain and Add Sugar

Strain the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a clean saucepan, discarding the solids. Stir in the sugar and vanilla extract. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Cool and Store

Allow the syrup to cool completely before transferring it to a bottle. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Latte Preparation

  1. 5

    Brew the Espresso

Brew your espresso using an espresso machine or a stovetop espresso maker. Set aside.

  2. 6

    Heat the Milk

In a small saucepan or using a milk frother, heat the milk until steaming but not boiling. If you prefer frothy milk, froth it to your liking.

  3. 7

    Combine the Drink

In a large mug, pour in the brewed espresso. Add 2-3 tablespoons of the pistachio syrup to taste. Stir to combine.

  4. 8

    Add Milk

Slowly pour the heated milk over the espresso mixture, stirring gently to combine the flavors.

  5. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Top with whipped cream and sprinkle ground pistachios on top for garnish. Serve immediately.
