Method

Preparation of Topping

  1. 1

    Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the medium tomatoes into small cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mince the Garlic

Peel and finely mince the two cloves of garlic, then add them to the bowl of diced tomatoes.

  3. 3

    Add Basil

Chop the basil leaves into small pieces (or tear them) and mix them into the bowl with the tomatoes and garlic.

  4. 4

    Season the Mixture

Add the balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper to the tomato mixture. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Preparation of Bread

  1. 5

    Slice the Baguette

Cut the baguette into 1/2 inch slices on a diagonal to create larger surface area for topping.

  2. 6

    Brush with Olive Oil

Brush each slice of baguette lightly with olive oil on both sides.

  3. 7

    Grill the Bread

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Place the slices of baguette on the grill and toast for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Assembling Bruschetta

  1. 8

    Top the Bread

Once the bread is grilled, remove it from the grill and place it on a serving platter. Spoon the tomato mixture generously on top of each slice.

  2. 9

    Serve Immediately

Serve the bruschetta immediately while the bread is warm and the topping is fresh.
