Method

Cocktail Preparation

  1. 1

    Chill the Glass

Place the cocktail glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill while preparing the martini.

  2. 2

    Mix the Ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz of gin and 0.5 oz of dry vermouth.

  3. 3

    Add Ice

Fill the shaker with 1 cup of ice cubes. Secure the lid tightly.

  4. 4

    Shake or Stir

Shake the shaker vigorously for about 15 seconds or stir for 30 seconds if you prefer a less diluted martini.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Glass

Remove the cocktail glass from the freezer or empty the ice water out.

  6. 6

    Strain the Martini

Using a strainer, pour the mixture into the chilled cocktail glass.

  7. 7

    Garnish

Add 3 olives to the glass and finish with a lemon twist by twisting the peel over the drink to release the oils before placing it on the rim.
