Method

Cooking the Pasta

1

Boil Water

In a large pot, bring about 2 liters of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the boiling water.

2

Cook Pasta

Once the water is boiling, add 200g of pasta. Cook according to package instructions, typically around 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3

Drain Pasta

Once the pasta is al dente, drain it in a colander and set aside. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil to prevent sticking.

Making the Sauce

4

Sauté Onions and Garlic

In a separate pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add 1 medium chopped onion and 2 minced garlic cloves. Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the onions are translucent.

5

Add Tomato Sauce

Pour in 400ml of tomato sauce into the pan. Stir to combine and let it simmer for about 10 minutes on low heat.

6

Season the Sauce

Add salt, black pepper, and fresh basil leaves to the sauce. Stir well and let it cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Combining

7

Mix Pasta with Sauce

Add the drained pasta to the sauce and toss to coat evenly. Cook for another minute to heat through.

8

Serve

Serve the pasta hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and additional fresh basil if desired.
