Cooking the Pasta

Boil the Fettuccine
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of the pasta cooking water and then drain the pasta.
Preparing the Sauce

Mix Egg Yolk and Cheese
In a bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, grated Parmesan cheese, and heavy cream until smooth. Season with black pepper to taste.
Cooking the Bacon and Vegetables

Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and let it drain on paper towels. Once cooled, crumble into pieces.

Add Crabmeat and Bacon
Gently fold in the crabmeat and crumbled bacon into the pasta, mixing well to incorporate all ingredients. Cook on low heat for 2-3 minutes to warm through.
Serving

Serve the Pasta
Serve the pasta carbonara immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and freshly cracked black pepper if desired.
