Main Ingredients

Marsala Cream Sauce

Method

Preparing the Pasta

  1. 1

    Cook the Penne Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Making the Marsala Cream Sauce

  1. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the chopped bacon. Cook until crispy, about 5 minutes. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the grease in the pan.

  2. 3

    Sauté the Chicken

In the same skillet with bacon grease, add the diced chicken. Cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes. Remove the chicken and set aside.

  3. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

Add olive oil to the skillet if needed. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes. Add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms, cooking for another 3-4 minutes.

  4. 5

    Deglaze the Pan

Pour in the Marsala wine, scraping the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits. Allow to simmer for 2-3 minutes.

  5. 6

    Make the Cream Sauce

Stir in the heavy cream, salt, black pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly.

  6. 7

    Combine Ingredients

Return the cooked chicken, bacon, and chopped sundried tomatoes to the skillet. Stir to combine and heat through.

Baking the Dish

  1. 8

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked penne pasta with the Marsala cream sauce mixture. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly.

  2. 9

    Prepare for Baking

Transfer the pasta mixture to a greased baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.

  3. 10

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the dish in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  4. 11

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious Fontana!
