Preparation of Ingredients

Chop Vegetables
Finely chop the onion, carrot, and celery stalk. Mince the garlic cloves.
Cooking the Sauce

Brown the Meat
In a large pot over medium heat, add the ground beef, veal, and pork. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

Incorporate Tomato Sauce
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, and beef broth. Mix well.

Season the Sauce
Add dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and bay leaf to the sauce. Stir to combine.

Simmer
Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer uncovered for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Cooking the Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.

Cook Fettuccine
Add fettuccine to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Serving

Combine and Serve
Serve the Bolognese sauce over the fettuccine. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.
