Prepare the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Bread
Tear the stale bread into small pieces and place it in a large mixing bowl.

Make the Custard
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Combine Ingredients
Pour the custard mixture over the torn bread and gently mix. Add in the raisins and melted butter, stirring until well combined.

Bake the Pudding
Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.

Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and serve warm. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
