Choux Pastry

Method

Choux Pastry Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a saucepan, bring water, butter, and salt to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add flour all at once, stirring vigorously until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

  2. 2

    Incorporate Eggs

Allow the dough to cool slightly, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

  3. 3

    Pipe the Profiteroles

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Use a piping bag or a spoon to drop small mounds of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden brown. Do not open the oven door during baking.

  5. 5

    Cool

Remove from oven and let cool completely on a wire rack.
