Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture all over the flank steak and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Once hot, place the marinated flank steak on the grill and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Remove from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Slice the Steak

After resting, slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.

Preparing the Tacos

  1. 4

    Sauté the Onions

In a pan, heat a small amount of olive oil over medium heat. Slice the medium onion and add it to the pan. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the onions are soft and translucent.

  2. 5

    Warm the Tortillas

Warm the corn tortillas on the grill or in a skillet for about 30 seconds on each side, until they are pliable.

  3. 6

    Assemble the Tacos

On each warm tortilla, layer the grilled steak strips, sautéed onions, and a generous handful of fresh cilantro. Squeeze lime juice over the top to enhance the flavor.
