Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour until the mixture pulls away from the sides of the pan and forms a ball.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Allow the dough to cool for a few minutes, then add 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

Coating Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix Sugar and Cinnamon

In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon. Set aside for coating the churros later.

Frying

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat 4 cups of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe Dough

Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe strips of dough (about 6 inches long) into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.

  3. 7

    Fry Churros

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown. Remove them from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  4. 8

    Coat with Sugar

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
