Tortilla Chips

House-Made Salsa

Method

Tortilla Chips

  1. 1

    Cut and Fry Tortillas

Stack the corn tortillas and cut them into sixths to create triangular chips. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat until hot.

  2. 2

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add a few tortilla triangles to the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, flipping occasionally to ensure even cooking.

  3. 3

    Drain and Season

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried chips from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. While still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.

House-Made Salsa

  1. 4

    Prepare the Ingredients

Dice the ripe tomatoes, red onion, and jalapeño pepper (removing seeds for less heat, if desired). Finely chop the fresh cilantro.

  2. 5

    Mix the Salsa

In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño, and cilantro. Add lime juice and salt, then stir well to combine all ingredients.

  3. 6

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the salsa and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lime juice to your preference.
