Method

Prepare Taco Shells

  1. 1

    Bake Crunchy Taco Shells

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the crunchy taco shells on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes until they are warm and slightly crispy.

  2. 2

    Warm Soft Tortillas

While the crunchy shells are baking, wrap the soft flour tortillas in aluminum foil and place them in the oven for the last 5 minutes to warm them up.

Cook Protein

  1. 3

    Prepare Ground Beef

In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula until fully browned.

  2. 4

    Add Taco Seasoning

Sprinkle the taco seasoning mix over the browned beef. Add 1 cup of water and stir well. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes until the liquid has reduced.

  3. 5

    Prepare Ranchero Chicken

In a separate skillet, add the ranchero chicken. Cook over medium heat until fully cooked (about 15 minutes), then shred the chicken using two forks.

  4. 6

    Add Taco Seasoning to Chicken

Mix the same taco seasoning with the shredded ranchero chicken and add 1/2 cup of water. Stir well and let simmer for 5-7 minutes.

Assemble Tacos

  1. 7

    Fill Taco Shells

Take the warm taco shells and fill them with either ground beef or ranchero chicken, according to your choice.

  2. 8

    Add Toppings

Top the tacos with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and sliced jalapeños as desired.
