Instructions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Coating

In a shallow dish, mix together the all-purpose flour and cornstarch. Season with additional salt and pepper if desired.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).

  4. 4

    Coat the Chicken

Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing any excess to drip off. Dredge each strip in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coat.

  5. 5

    Fry the Chicken Strips

Carefully place the coated chicken strips in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Once cooked, remove the chicken strips and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with honey mustard or BBQ sauce.
