Prepare the Burger Patty

Mix Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.

Form Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into round patties, about ¾ inch thick.
Cook the Burger

Cook Patties
Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Mix the Sauce
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and pickle relish. Stir until well blended.
Assemble the Burger

Prepare the Buns
Cut the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill if desired.

Layer the Ingredients
Spread a generous amount of special sauce on both the top and bottom halves of the buns. Add a lettuce leaf to the bottom half, followed by the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, and then cover with the top half of the bun.
