Prepare the Beef Patty

Form the Patties
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Form the mixture into a large patty, about 1-inch thick.

Grill the Patty
Preheat a grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the beef patty on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.

Prepare the Vegetables
Wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato and onion into thin rings. Set aside.

In small bowls, place the mayonnaise and ketchup for easy access when assembling the burger.
Assemble the Whopper

Assemble the Burger
Cut the sesame seed bun in half. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of the bun. Place the grilled beef patty on top, followed by lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, onion rings, and a drizzle of ketchup. Place the top half of the bun over the assembled toppings.

Serve immediately with your favorite side, such as fries or a salad.
