Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Brush one side of each slice of ciabatta bread with olive oil. This will be the outer side of the sandwich.

  2. 2

    Layer the Fillings

On the non-oiled side of one slice of ciabatta, spread the mustard evenly. Layer the deli ham slices, followed by the Swiss cheese slices, and top with fresh spinach. Place the other slice of bread on top, oiled side facing out.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Panini Press

If using a panini press, preheat it according to the manufacturer's instructions. If using a stovetop, heat a skillet over medium heat.

  2. 4

    Grill the Panini

Place the assembled sandwich in the panini press and close the lid. Cook for about 3-5 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted. If using a skillet, press down with a spatula and grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side.

Serving

  1. 5

    Slice and Serve

Once cooked, remove the panini from the heat, let it cool for a minute, then slice it in half. Serve warm.
