In a medium saucepan, combine the Malbec wine, granulated sugar, and water. Stir well to dissolve the sugar.

Combine Ingredients

Add the cinnamon sticks and star anise to the mixture. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, ensuring it does not boil.

Add Spices

Once simmering, reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Infuse Flavors

While the wine is simmering, slice the orange into thin rounds. Set aside for garnishing.

Prepare Orange Garnish

After simmering, strain the wine mixture into heatproof glasses or mugs, discarding the spices. Add a slice of orange and a cinnamon stick to each serving.
