Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare Asparagus

Rinse the asparagus under cold water to remove any dirt. Trim the woody ends of the asparagus by snapping them off or cutting them with a knife. The asparagus will naturally break where the tender part meets the woody part.

Marinade

  1. 2

    Season the Asparagus

In a large bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Add the trimmed asparagus to the bowl, and toss until the asparagus is evenly coated with the marinade.

Grilling

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C).

  2. 4

    Grill the Asparagus

Place the marinated asparagus directly on the grill grates. Grill for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the asparagus is tender and has nice grill marks. You can also use a grill basket if preferred.

Serving

  1. 5

    Serve

Remove the asparagus from the grill and transfer to a serving platter. Drizzle with additional lemon juice if desired and serve immediately.
