Salad Base

Method

Preparing the Salad

  1. 1

    Wash Lettuce

Wash the Romaine lettuce under cold water to remove any dirt and debris. Shake off excess water and dry using a salad spinner or paper towels.

  2. 2

    Chop Lettuce

Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Add the croutons and grated parmesan cheese to the bowl with the chopped lettuce.

Making the Caesar Dressing

  1. 4

    Mince Garlic

    Mince the garlic cloves finely.

  2. 5

    Prepare Anchovy Paste

In a mixing bowl, mash the anchovy fillets with the minced garlic until they form a paste.

  3. 6

    Mix Dressing Ingredients

Add the Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper to the anchovy and garlic mixture. Whisk until combined.

  4. 7

    Emulsify Dressing

Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking continuously to emulsify the dressing until it is smooth and creamy.

Assembling the Caesar Salad

  1. 8

    Dress Salad

Pour the prepared Caesar dressing over the lettuce, croutons, and parmesan cheese in the salad bowl.

  2. 9

    Toss Salad

Toss the salad gently to ensure all the ingredients are coated with the dressing.

  3. 10

    Serve Salad

Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
