Method
For the Meatballs
- 1
Prepare the Meatball Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 3
Bake the Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and browned on the outside.
For the Marinara Sauce

- 5
Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Pour in the crushed tomatoes and add the dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Stir well to combine.
- 6
Simmer the Sauce
Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Let it cook for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, allowing the flavors to meld.
For the Spaghetti
- 7
Cook the Spaghetti
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- 8
Combine with Sauce and Meatballs
Once the spaghetti is cooked, drain it and return it to the pot. Pour the marinara sauce over the spaghetti and add the baked meatballs. Toss gently to combine.
- 9
Serve
Serve the spaghetti and meatballs hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
