Method

Cooking Spaghetti

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4-6 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt to the boiling water.

  2. 2

    Cook Spaghetti

Add the gluten-free spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside.

Making Marinara Sauce

  1. 4

    Heat Olive Oil

In a large skillet over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Allow it to heat for about 1 minute.

  2. 5

    Sauté Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 6

    Add Tomatoes

Pour in the 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes. Stir well to combine with the garlic and oil.

  4. 7

    Season Sauce

Add 1 tsp of dried oregano, 1 tsp of dried basil, 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of black pepper, and 1 tsp of sugar. Stir to combine all ingredients.

  5. 8

    Simmer Sauce

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Combining and Serving

  1. 9

    Mix Pasta with Sauce

Add the drained spaghetti to the simmering marinara sauce. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.

  2. 10

    Garnish and Serve

Serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil leaves on top.
