Method

Meatball Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, almond flour, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Form Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Drizzle with Olive Oil

Drizzle the meatballs with olive oil to help them brown while baking.

  5. 5

    Bake the Meatballs

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and browned on the outside.

Marinara Sauce Preparation

  1. 6

    Heat Olive Oil

In a saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 7

    Sauté Garlic

Add minced garlic cloves to the pan and sauté for about 1 minute or until fragrant.

  3. 8

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar.

  4. 9

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

Serving

  1. 10

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Once the meatballs are cooked, remove them from the oven and add them to the marinara sauce. Stir gently to coat the meatballs in the sauce.

  2. 11

    Serve

Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with fresh basil or parsley if desired, over gluten-free pasta or with a side of vegetables.
