Method

Preparation of Garlic Butter

  1. 1

    Create the Garlic Butter Mixture

In a medium bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Preparing the Bread

  1. 2

    Slice the Baguette

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the French baguette in half lengthwise to create two long pieces.

  2. 3

    Spread the Garlic Butter

Generously spread the garlic butter mixture evenly across the cut sides of the baguette.

Toasting the Bread

  1. 4

    Toast the Bread

Place the prepared baguette halves on a baking sheet, cut side up. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the bread is toasted.

Making the Marinara Sauce

  1. 5

    Prepare the Marinara Sauce

In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the canned crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, sugar, and salt. Stir to combine. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Season with black pepper to taste.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve the Garlic Bread

Once the garlic bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and cut it into slices. Serve hot with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
