Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This will ensure that your cookies bake evenly.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Mixing
- 3
Cream Butter and Sugars
In a large bowl, using a hand mixer or stand mixer, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- 4
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- 5
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
- 6
Add Chocolate Chips
Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon until evenly distributed.
Baking
- 7
Scoop and Place on Baking Sheet
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving enough space between each cookie.
- 8
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked, but they will firm up as they cool.
- 9
Cool
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
