Tuna Salad

Grilled Cheese

Method

Prepare Tuna Salad

  1. 1

    Drain and Flake Tuna

Open the canned white albacore tuna and drain the liquid. In a mixing bowl, use a fork to flake the tuna into smaller pieces.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

Add the mayonnaise, chopped celery, red onion, Dijon mustard, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice to the flaked tuna. Mix everything together until well combined.

  3. 3

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the tuna salad and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt, pepper, or lemon juice to your preference.

Grill the Sandwich

  1. 4

    Prepare Bread

Take the sourdough bread slices and butter one side of each slice evenly.

  2. 5

    Assemble Sandwich

On the unbuttered side of two slices, spread a generous amount of the tuna salad. Top the tuna salad with shredded Jack cheese and then place the remaining slices of bread on top, buttered side facing out.

  3. 6

    Grill Sandwich

Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes or until the bread is golden brown.

  4. 7

    Flip and Cook

Carefully flip the sandwiches using a spatula and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes, until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Serve

  1. 8

    Slice and Serve

Once grilled to perfection, remove the sandwiches from the skillet. Let them cool for a minute, then slice in half and serve warm.
