Mix Dry Ingredients

Combine Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.

Prepare Wet Mixture
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted unsalted butter until well combined.
Combine Ingredients

Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet mixture. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix. The batter should be slightly lumpy.
Cook Pancakes

Heat the Pan
Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or oil.

Cook the Pancakes
Pour about 1/3 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
Serve

Plate and Serve
Stack the pancakes on a plate and serve warm with maple syrup and additional butter on top or on the side.
