Method

Sandwich Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Egg Mixture

In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Sandwich

Place one slice of bread on a clean surface and layer a slice of Swiss cheese and a slice of ham on top. Repeat this with another slice of cheese and ham, then top with a second slice of bread to create a sandwich. Repeat for the other sandwich.

  3. 3

    Dip the Sandwich

Carefully dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, allowing the bread to soak for about 30 seconds on each side.

  4. 4

    Cook the Sandwich

In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Once melted, add one sandwich to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Repeat with the second sandwich, adding the remaining butter as needed.

Raspberry Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Sauce

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the frozen raspberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir occasionally until the mixture comes to a simmer and the raspberries break down, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 6

    Blend the Sauce

Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Use a blender or an immersion blender to puree the sauce until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve if desired for a smoother texture.
