Chicken Strips

Sandwich Assembly

Method

Preparing Chicken Strips

  1. 1

    Marinate Chicken

In a bowl, combine buttermilk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Add chicken breast strips and marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

  2. 2

    Prepare Breading

In a shallow dish, mix together all-purpose flour and cornstarch. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Breading Process

Beat the eggs in a separate bowl. Remove marinated chicken from the refrigerator. Dip each strip into the egg mixture and then coat with the flour-cornstarch mixture, ensuring an even coating.

  4. 4

    Fry Chicken

In a deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry the breaded chicken strips in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 5

    Toast Brioche Buns

In a skillet, melt a bit of butter and toast the brioche buns on both sides until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Spread Condiments

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted brioche bun. Drizzle Carolina gold BBQ sauce over the mayonnaise.

  3. 7

    Add Chicken Strips

Place two crispy chicken strips on top of the sauce on each bun.

  4. 8

    Add Toppings

Top the chicken with shredded lettuce and sliced deli pickles.

  5. 9

    Complete the Sandwich

Place the top half of the brioche bun over the toppings to complete the sandwich.
