Method

Prepare Strawberry Sauce

  1. 1

    Cook the Strawberries

In a small saucepan, combine the fresh strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until the strawberries soften and release their juices, about 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally until the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.

Prepare Egg Mixture

  1. 2

    Whisk the Egg Mixture

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

Cook French Toast

  1. 3

    Heat the Skillet

In a large skillet or griddle, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat until it starts to bubble.

  2. 4

    Dip the Bread

Take one slice of bread and dip it into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are fully coated. Allow any excess mixture to drip off.

  3. 5

    Cook the Bread

Place the coated slice onto the hot skillet. Repeat the process for the remaining slices. Cook each slice for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Serve

  1. 6

    Plate and Garnish

Once all slices are cooked, place them on a plate. Drizzle the strawberry sauce over the top and sprinkle with powdered sugar to taste.
