Dry Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This allows the cookies to bake evenly.

  2. 2

    Prepare Baking Sheets

Line two baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Mixing Ingredients

  1. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

  2. 4

    Cream Butter and Sugars

In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy and smooth.

  3. 5

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then mix in the vanilla extract.

  4. 6

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

Adding Mix-ins

  1. 7

Fold in Chocolate Chips and Nuts

Using a spatula, gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using) until evenly distributed.

Baking

  1. 8

    Scoop Dough onto Baking Sheets

Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.

  2. 9

    Bake Cookies

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. The centers may look slightly underbaked, but they will continue to cook on the baking sheet.

Cooling and Serving

  1. 10

    Cool Cookies

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

  2. 11

    Serve and Enjoy

Serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy your delicious chocolate chip cookies!
