Method

Homefries Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and dice the potatoes into small cubes, making sure they are uniform in size for even cooking.

  2. 2

    Cook the Homefries

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced potatoes and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy.

Bacon Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a separate skillet, cook the bacon strips over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes, flipping halfway through. Once cooked, transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Assemble the Dish

On a plate, layer the crispy homefries as the base. Place the cooked bacon strips on top of the homefries, followed by the American cheese slices. Allow the cheese to melt slightly from the heat of the bacon and homefries.

  2. 5

    Add Avocado and Sour Cream

Slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh. Slice the avocado into thin pieces and arrange it over the cheese. Finally, add a dollop of sour cream on top for extra creaminess.
