Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.

  2. 2

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In another mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the sugar mixture and beat until light and fluffy.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

  4. 4

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and finish with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Filling Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix Coconut Filling

In a separate bowl, combine the coconut flakes, sweetened condensed milk, ground cinnamon, and powdered sugar. Mix until well combined and set aside.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 6

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. 7

    Layer Dough and Filling

Pour half of the dough mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly. Next, add the coconut filling over the dough, spreading it out evenly. Finally, pour the remaining dough mixture over the filling, spreading to cover.

  3. 8

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Topping Preparation

  1. 9

    Make the Topping

In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust the consistency with more milk if needed.

Final Touch

  1. 10

    Drizzle Topping

Once the Flor Blanca is out of the oven and cooled slightly, drizzle the prepared topping over the top.

  2. 11

    Serve

Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
