Dark Chocolate Sauce

Caramel Sauce

Method

Prepare Dark Chocolate Sauce

  1. 1

    Melt Dark Chocolate

In a small saucepan, combine the dark chocolate chips and heavy cream over low heat. Stir continuously until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.

  2. 2

    Add Vanilla

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Set aside to cool.

Make Caramel Sauce

  1. 3

    Cook Sugar

In another saucepan, heat the sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it melts and turns a golden brown color.

  2. 4

    Add Butter and Cream

Once the sugar is melted, quickly add the butter and stir until melted. Then slowly pour in the heavy cream while continuing to stir.

  3. 5

    Finish Caramel

Add a pinch of salt and stir until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Prepare Coffee

  1. 6

    Brew Espresso

Brew 2 shots of espresso using your preferred method (espresso machine, stovetop, etc.).

  2. 7

    Steam Milk

Steam 1 cup of milk until hot and frothy, using a steam wand or stovetop method.

Assemble Aztec Gold

  1. 8

    Combine Espresso and Milk

In a large mug, pour the brewed espresso followed by the steamed milk. Stir gently to combine.

  2. 9

    Add Sauces

Drizzle a generous amount of dark chocolate sauce and caramel sauce into the mug, swirling them into the coffee mixture.

  3. 10

    Top with Whipped Cream

Spoon the whipped cream on top of the coffee mixture.

  4. 11

    Drizzle Toppings

Finish by drizzling more dark chocolate sauce and caramel sauce over the whipped cream.
