Dough Preparation

1

Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.

3

Combine Ingredients

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough begins to form.

4

Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface. Knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

5

Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

6

Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.

7

Shape Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it out to your desired thickness and shape.

8

Add Sauce and Toppings

Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a pizza peel or baking sheet. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top, followed by dried oregano, and season with salt and black pepper to taste.

9

Bake Pizza

Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (or onto the pizza stone). Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden, and the crust is crispy.

10

Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a minute, then slice and serve hot.
