Method
Preparing the Mozzarella Sticks
- 1
- 2
Dredge the Cheese Sticks
Take a mozzarella stick, dip it in the flour, then coat it in the egg, and finally roll it in the bread crumb mixture. Make sure each stick is fully coated. Repeat this for all cheese sticks.
- 3
Chill the Coated Sticks
Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes to help them maintain their shape when frying.
Frying the Mozzarella Sticks
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.
- 5
Fry the Sticks
Carefully add a few mozzarella sticks to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Turn them occasionally for even cooking.
- 6
Drain the Sticks
Once golden, remove the mozzarella sticks with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
