Chicken Preparation
- 1
Prepare Chicken
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. In a bowl, mix the olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Rub this mixture onto both sides of the chicken breasts.
- 2
Grill Chicken
Place the chicken breasts on the grill. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). During the last couple of minutes of grilling, brush the BBQ sauce on both sides of the chicken.
- 3
Rest Chicken
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Coleslaw Preparation
- 4
Prepare Vegetables
Finely slice the green cabbage and shred the carrots. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
- 5
Make Coleslaw Dressing
In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- 6
Combine
Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots, and toss until everything is evenly coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
Sandwich Assembly
- 7
Assemble Sandwich
Slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly if desired. Place a grilled chicken breast on the bottom half of each bun, top with a generous portion of coleslaw, and add pickles. Place the top half of the bun over the coleslaw.
