Method

Brewing the Cold Brew

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a large jar or pitcher, combine 1 cup of coarse ground coffee with 4 cups of cold water. Stir gently to ensure all the coffee grounds are saturated.

  2. 2

    Steep

Cover the jar or pitcher and let the mixture steep at room temperature or in the refrigerator for 12 to 24 hours. The longer you steep, the stronger the flavor will be.

  3. 3

    Strain

After steeping, place a fine mesh strainer or coffee filter over another jar or pitcher. Slowly pour the coffee mixture through the strainer to separate the grounds from the liquid.

Serving the Cold Brew

  1. 4

    Serve

Pour the cold brew concentrate over ice in a glass, filling it about halfway.

  2. 5

    Add Flavorings

If desired, sweeten with sugar and add vanilla extract. Pour in milk or cream to taste, then stir well to combine.
