Preparation of Coffee

Brew the Espresso
Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and let it cool down to room temperature.

Add Sugar to Coffee
Stir in 1 tablespoon of sugar into the cooled espresso until fully dissolved.
Mascarpone Mixture

Whisk Egg Yolks and Sugar
In a mixing bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks and 1 tablespoon of sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

Add Mascarpone and Vanilla
Add 1 cup of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the egg mixture and gently fold until smooth.

Whip Heavy Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined and fluffy.
Assembly

Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the sweetened espresso, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

Layer the Ingredients
Arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer in a rectangular dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.

Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture on top.

Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
Serving

Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu generously with cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.
