Raisin Chutney
Method
Bread
- 1
Prepare the Baguette
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides lightly with olive oil.
- 2
Toast the Bread
Bake the baguette slices in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly.
Roasted Grapes
- 3
Prepare the Grapes
Rinse the seedless grapes under cold water and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
- 4
Roast the Grapes
Place the grapes on a baking sheet and drizzle with honey. Roast in the same oven at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, until they are soft and starting to caramelize. Remove from the oven and set aside.
Apple
- 5
Prepare the Apple
Wash the apple thoroughly under cold water. Slice into wedges, leaving the skin on for added texture.
Raisin Chutney
- 6
Cook the Chutney
In a saucepan, combine raisins, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, grated ginger, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and the raisins are plump.
- 7
Cool the Chutney
Remove from heat and let the chutney cool to room temperature before serving. This will enhance the flavors.
