Preparing the Bread

Slice the Bread
Using a serrated knife, slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices.

Toast the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and brush one side with olive oil. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden and crispy.

Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the fresh tomatoes and place them in a mixing bowl.

Mince the Garlic
Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves. Add them to the bowl with the tomatoes.

Add Basil and Season
Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the mixing bowl. Season with salt, black pepper, and balsamic vinegar. Gently mix everything together to combine.
Assembling the Bruschetta

Top the Bread
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven. Spoon the tomato mixture generously on top of each slice of bread.

Serve the bruschetta warm or at room temperature as an appetizer or snack.
