Method

Preparing the Bread

  1. 1

    Slice the Bread

Using a serrated knife, slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  2. 2

    Toast the Bread

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and brush one side with olive oil. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden and crispy.

Preparing the Topping

  1. 3

    Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the fresh tomatoes and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 4

    Mince the Garlic

Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves. Add them to the bowl with the tomatoes.

  3. 5

    Add Basil and Season

Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the mixing bowl. Season with salt, black pepper, and balsamic vinegar. Gently mix everything together to combine.

Assembling the Bruschetta

  1. 6

    Top the Bread

Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven. Spoon the tomato mixture generously on top of each slice of bread.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the bruschetta warm or at room temperature as an appetizer or snack.
