Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preparation

Remove the filet mignon from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps ensure even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the filet mignon with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Add the filet mignon to the pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms.

  5. 5

    Flip and Add Butter

Flip the steak and add butter and the sprig of rosemary to the pan. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, basting the steak with the melted butter.

  6. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  7. 7

    Serve

Slice the filet mignon and serve with your favorite sides.
