Crab Cake Ingredients

Method

Preparation Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Finely chop the red bell pepper, shallot, and garlic cloves.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine crab meat, chopped vegetables, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, egg, 0.25 cups breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are combined.

  3. 3

    Form Cakes

Shape the mixture into patties, about 1 inch thick. You should get around 6-8 cakes.

  4. 4

    Chill

Place the crab cakes on a baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

  5. 5

    Cook the Cakes

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the crab cakes for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Prepare the Romesco Sauce

While the cakes are cooking, prepare the romesco sauce (store-bought or homemade) to serve underneath the crab cakes.

  7. 7

    Top with Garlic Breadcrumbs

In a separate bowl, mix remaining breadcrumbs with minced garlic and a drizzle of olive oil. Toast them in a pan until golden. Top the cooked crab cakes with the garlic breadcrumbs.

  8. 8

    Serve

Serve the crab cakes over a bed of romesco sauce and enjoy!
