Method

Prepare the Shawarma

  1. 1

    Marinate the Meats

In a bowl, combine the beef and chicken with olive oil, shawarma spice mix, salt, and black pepper. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

  2. 2

    Cook the Meats

Grill or pan-fry the marinated beef and chicken until fully cooked and tender. Allow to rest for a few minutes, then slice thinly.

Prepare the Vegetables and Sauces

  1. 3

    Mix the Vegetables

In a bowl, combine the cabbage, diced tomatoes, pickled turnips, onion, parsley, and sumac. Toss well to mix.

  2. 4

    Prepare the Sauces

Ensure your hummus, garlic sauce, and Boustan's special sauce are ready for assembly.

Assemble the Shawarma

  1. 5

    Fill the Bread

Take a piece of Markouk bread and spread a layer of hummus, followed by a layer of garlic sauce. Add a generous amount of sliced beef and chicken, then top with the vegetable mix and a drizzle of Boustan's special sauce.

  2. 6

    Wrap and Serve

Wrap the Markouk bread tightly around the filling, and serve immediately while warm. Enjoy your SAJ Mixed Shawarma!
