Shawarma Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Meats

In a large bowl, combine the chicken and beef with garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, salt, black pepper, olive oil, and lemon juice. Mix well, ensuring the meat is fully coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

  2. 2

    Cook the Meats

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken and beef from the marinade and cook each type of meat for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 75°C for chicken and 70°C for beef). Allow the meats to rest for a few minutes, then slice thinly.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Shawarma

Warm the pita bread on the grill for a minute. Layer slices of chicken and beef, then top with fresh vegetables like diced tomatoes, sliced onions, and cucumbers. Drizzle with tahini sauce.

  4. 4

    Serve

Wrap the pita around the fillings and serve immediately with extra tahini sauce on the side.
