Preparation

    Soak Chickpeas

    Soak the dried chickpeas in water for at least 8 hours or overnight.

    Blend Ingredients

    Drain the soaked chickpeas and place them in a food processor with garlic, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, black pepper, parsley, cilantro, onion, and lemon juice. Blend until the mixture is coarsely ground and well combined.

    Chill Mixture

    Transfer the mixture to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Cooking

    Form Falafel Balls

    Using your hands, form the chilled mixture into small balls or patties.

    Heat Oil

    In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until hot.

    Fry Falafel

    Carefully add the falafel balls to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally.
