Marinated Chicken

Cilantro Lime Crema

Method

Marinating the Chicken

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a mixing bowl, combine tequila, lime juice, olive oil, minced garlic, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until well blended.

  2. 2

    Marinate Chicken

Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for best flavor.

Cooking the Chicken

  1. 3

    Cook the Chicken

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting excess marinade drip off. Grill or cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Slice the Chicken

After resting, slice the chicken into thin strips.

Preparing Cilantro Lime Crema

  1. 5

    Mix the Crema

In a small bowl, combine sour cream, lime juice, chopped cilantro, and salt to taste. Stir until smooth and well mixed.

Assembling Tacos

  1. 6

    Build the Tacos

Take a taco shell and fill it with a layer of shredded lettuce, followed by the sliced chicken. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese, crushed tortilla chips, sliced avocado, and a drizzle of cilantro lime crema.

  2. 7

    Garnish

Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.
