Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 lb of ground beef, 1 tsp of salt, and 1 tsp of black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions (8 oz each). Flatten each portion into a disc and place 2 slices of American cheese in the center of one disc. Cover with the other disc and pinch the edges to seal.

Cook the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patty

Place the stuffed burger patty on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

Flip the burger patty and place 2 slices of American cheese on top. Cook for another 4-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature reaches 160°F.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

Spread 1 tbs of butter on the cut sides of the burger buns and toast them on the grill until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, layer lettuce, the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
