Hummus

Vegetables & Pita

Method

Preparing the Hummus

  1. 1

    Rinse Chickpeas

Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water to remove excess sodium.

  2. 2

    Blend Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the rinsed chickpeas, tahini, fresh lemon juice, garlic cloves, olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and water. Blend until smooth.

  3. 3

    Adjust Consistency

If the hummus is too thick, add more water, one tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

  4. 4

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the hummus and adjust seasoning, adding more salt or lemon juice if desired.

  5. 5

    Serve

Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle paprika on top.

Preparing Vegetables and Pita

  1. 6

    Wash Vegetables

Wash the cucumber, carrots, bell pepper, and cherry tomatoes thoroughly under cold water.

  2. 7

    Cut Vegetables

Slice the cucumber and bell pepper into sticks. Peel and cut the carrots into sticks as well.

  3. 8

    Arrange the Platter

On a large platter, arrange the sliced vegetables and cherry tomatoes around the bowl of hummus.

  4. 9

    Prepare Pita Bread

Cut the pita bread into wedges and arrange them on the platter alongside the vegetables.

  5. 10

    Final Touch

Serve the hummus platter immediately, allowing guests to dip the vegetables and pita into the hummus.
